Helen A. Bain
OGDEN – Helen Aroline Cogdill Bain, 90, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at a local care center.
She was born April 30, 1919 in Thermopolis, Wyoming, to Raymond J. and Margaret Eckerdt Cogdill Salzman. Her father died in the 1918 influenza epidemic. She was raised by her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Esther Cogdill.
Helen married Homer C. Bain on March 7, 1936 in Worland, Wyoming. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1996.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ogden.
Helen enjoyed collecting dolls and gardening.
Helen was the loving mother of three children, Zelda Taylor, Salem, OR; Hugh and Lottie Bain, Pleasanton, CA; Lynn Bain, Ogden; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
The family expresses special thanks to Nancy Veibell for her loving kindness to Mom.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Pastor Karl Dumas officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church, the Shriners, or the Union Gospel Mission.
