Helen Flint Barber

Helen Flint Barber May 28, 1925 ~ May 7, 2008 Helen Flint Barber, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2008 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born May 28, 1925 to Chester C. and Mina W. Flint in Kaysville, Utah. She married Charles Richard Barber. She is survived by her children, Joan and Craig Hansen, Paul and Vicky Barber, Mark and Marie Barber, MaryAnn and Scott Nielson, and Charles and Connie Barber. Mom was a grandmother, mentor and friend to 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Jane and Jay Green, Vernon and Marilyn Flint, Barbara and Bob Iverson, and Catherine and Neil Adams, her brother, sisters and their spouses. Mom enriched hundreds of lives as a career educator in the Davis School District, teaching second grade for over 35 years. She served in multiple church callings as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Perhaps her greatest legacy is evidenced in her example of honesty, compassion, hard work, and loyalty to her family. We were blessed by her watch-care over all of us and experienced her unconditional love and straight-arrow wisdom our whole lives. If every child and every grandchild had the blessing and privilege of being mothered by a woman of her caliber, the world would be a beautiful place. Mother loved life, relished learning, reveled in nature’s beauties, and reminded us through her example to do the same. She is a woman of intelligence, character and wit. She will be missed, but we believe that her love and influence is reflected in all of our lives. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville Tabernacle, 198 West Center Street. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
