Helen Mae Faddis Belnap 1919-2011
Helen Mae Faddis Belnap, 91, passed away peacefully in McCall, Idaho, on September 4, 2011. Helen was born November 18, 1919 in Ogden, Utah, to Robert Robinson Faddis and Martha Elizabeth Stitt. She and her kid brother "Bobby" were raised and attended schools in Ogden, Utah.
She graduated from Ogden High School in 1937 but not before meeting the apple of her eye, Robert Volney Belnap. On November 22, 1939, they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple by David O. McKay. They started their married life in a small home Bob built for her in Ogden. They went on to build many more homes and an eternal family by having three children, Robert Brent Belnap (Lorna Perkins) Ogden, Utah; Diane Lynn Gidley (David) Boise, Idaho; and Marty Marie Dillon (Clyde) McCall, Idaho; 12 grandchildren and their spouses and 37 great-grandchildren.
Helen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she enjoyed visiting teaching and served in many callings.
No matter who you were, family or friend, she was always glad to see you. Helen loved people, and she made them feel like they were her very best friend. She was the best "Grandma" and "Grandma Great" ever. She always had time to listen, to encourage and to praise. She looked for the good in everything and in everyone. She had a keen sense of humor and loved to make others smile. Helen was an accomplished artist, golfer, card player and social butterfly. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976 and her only brother, Robert Earl Faddis (Beverly Finch) and one great-grandson Kaylen Dax Belnap.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011, at 3:00 pm at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, with Bishop Don Mendenhall officiating. Friends may visit family Saturday from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
