Helen Kennick Butters, 84, passed away on May 18, 2013. Helen was born March 24, 1929 in Price, Utah to Frank and Antonia Medevek Kennick. After Helen graduated from Carbon County High School, she entered Ogden''s St. Benedict''s School of Nursing. It was in Ogden that she met and married Ray M. Butters on October 13, 1950. Helen and Ray lived most of their married life in Roy. Helen enjoyed a long career as a registered nurse, retiring in 1984. Ray passed away on March 7, 1993 and she missed him dearly.
She loved her family always putting their needs before hers. She loved God and all animals, especially dogs.
Survived by her children Kalleen (Craig) Foster, Cheryl (Ben) Bell, Jeff (Kathy) Butters; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Chris; and seven siblings, Harry, Bill, Carl, Clinton, Clifford, Bette, Hannah.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living for their loving care and concern for Helen over the last two years. She enjoyed the many friends she made at Mountain Ridge, as well as the activities.
