Helen Ruby Bond Cash, 91, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in Winnemucca, Nevada, of issues related to age.

She was born September 2, 1923 in Ogden, Utah, to Fred Henry Bond and Rosetta Jorgensen Bond. After graduation from Ogden High School in 1941, she worked for Scowcroft Company and the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.

On November 25, 1942, Helen married Bryant Thompson Cash in Malad, Idaho. They resided in Washington Terrace, South Ogden and Roy until they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to enjoy retirement, free of snow and cold weather.

Helen was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Miriam Chapter #14 Order of the Eastern Star.

She spent many years as a Pink Lady volunteer at the Weber County Hospital in Roy, where she would wash and set hair for many of the patients. She enjoyed her years as a Pink Lady and made many great friendships with other Pink Ladies and patients. Helen loved to sew and do needlework; she made all her children’s school clothes when they were growing up. She also became an accomplished painter, later in life, and painted many Western and desert landscapes that were prominently displayed on the walls of her family’s homes. She and Bryant loved to travel to the desert on rock hunting expeditions.

Helen was the best mother a child could want and would do anything for us. She was kind and compassionate and will be greatly missed by all of us.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Diana (Harold) Howell, Richmond, KY; Harvey Cash, Winnemucca, NV; Bryant (Colleen) Cash, II, Salt Lake City; Elizabeth (Daniel) Gregoire, West Haven; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
