Helen Eline Collins Cella (84), wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed from this mortal existence on a beautiful autumn afternoon, October 30, 2008.
Born on August 11, 1924 at Jerome, Idaho to Thomas and Dorothea Collins, she grew up in San Francisco, California. She married Roy F. Cella on May 21, 1944, and was later sealed to him in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised five children, twins Bonnie (Bruce) Knowlton and Ronald (Judy) Cella, Bob (Marie) Cella, Joy Cella (deceased), and Glen (Mary Jane) Cella.
Helen was beloved by her children, nieces and nephews, and all who knew her. She was a master mom and homemaker. She enjoyed dogs and cats, and nurtured all animals. She was adept at games, cross-word puzzles and had a quick sense of humor. Above all, in spite of the trials of declining health, Helen continued on with a firm testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and a strong devotion to daily prayer. Her posterity remembers the wonderful times of camping, picnicking, holidays and home-cooked meals. Unable to hear for many years, she never was at a loss at ways to express her love, a squeeze of the hand and a "thank-you" for the simplest gesture. Married sixty-four years to her husband, Roy, together they are blessed with an army of righteous posterity including nineteen grandchildren, and fifty-one great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 3, 2008 at 11 am at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may call Monday from 9:30-10:15 prior to services. Interment at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, Bluffdale, UT.
