Helen LaVerne Bailey Cook

Helen LaVerne Bailey Cook, 85, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017. She was born February 28, 1932 in Huntsville, Utah to LeRoy H. and Sarah Leone Bennington Bailey. Helen worked for and retired from Cutter Laboratories in Ogden, Utah. She was a faithful member of the LDS church and held numerous callings. Helen liked to refinish furniture and other projects. She also took great pride in her flower gardens around the house.
Ralph Edward Cook met Helen, the love of his life, on a blind date while serving in The United States Navy in California. Helen married Ralph on July 28, 1951 in Huntsville, Utah. On August 19, 1979, they were married for time and all eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple. Together, they raised three wonderful daughters.
Helen is survived by her husband, two daughters, Brenda Ball and Debbie Orr-Paris; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Dorothy (Leon) Fielding She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Terry Lynne Morse; two son-in-laws, Steven Ball and David Morse; and her brother, James Bailey.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Huntsville Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
