Helen Draper, 88, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

She was born July 28, 1926 in Richmond, Utah to Olof and Edna Neilson.

On May 25, 1943, Helen married Le Roy H. Draper in Ely, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

She worked for Stevens Cannery in Clinton, Garden Homes in Clearfield, and Nations Creations in the Layton Hills Mall.

Helen served in many positions in the LDS Church, working with the youth and was a devout Visiting Teacher. She also had a beautiful voice and sang at many church meetings.

She loved her family and spending time with them especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved doing her life history, her husband’s life history, crocheting, watching the Utah Jazz and baseball.

Helen is survived by her children, DeAnn (Kevin) Johnston, Taylorsville; Richard L. (Diana) Draper, Logan; Jenetta (Greg) Klippel, Clearfield; daughter-in-law, Tam Draper, Layton; 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Russell (Gloria) Neilson, Ogden. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Ronald, her parents, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
