Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Helen Delores McCoy, 88, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015.

She was born July 14, 1927 in Monett, Missouri to Benjamin Abbey and Vivian Ellis.

On August 11, 1946, Helen married Garland C. McCoy in Marryion Ville, Missouri. Shortly thereafter they left Missouri and traveled to Utah.

Her career with the phone company started in Missouri and continued in Utah with Mountain Bell. She retired after 29 years.

Mom and Dad enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and getting together with family. She loved playing cards with friends.

Helen is survived by her children, Garland (Marlene) McCoy, Roy; Vivian (Russell) Nance, Mt. Green; Denny (Janet) McCoy, Sun City, AZ; Deloris (Mark) Greenhalgh, Farr West; Dorris (Scott) Kinser, Roy; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers and sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mount Ridge Memory Care South Ogden, with special thanks to Michael Dickens, CNA for all of their love, support and care they gave to our mother and family. Also to Intermountain Homecare and Hospice staff who helped us through this tough time.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015 at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
