OGDEN a€" Helen Meta Tadje Mickelson, 87, died Monday, December 29, 2008.

Helen was born April 19, 1921 in Salt Lake City, the fourth of seven children born to Phillip August and Meta Bucholtz Tadje.

She married Hal Leonard Mickelson on September 21, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had six children which included triplets born in 1957. Hal preceded her in death.

Helen graduated from East High School, attended the University of Utah, and graduated from LDS Business College. She worked in various capacities with the War Department, the U.S. Bureau of Mines, and the L.D.S. Church Office in the Salt Lake Temple during World War II until Hal returned from duty with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific.

Helen was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings in Sunday School, Primary, and Relief Society.

Helen enjoyed tennis, bicycling and horseback riding. She particularly enjoyed visiting the family cabin in Lambs Canyon where she hiked all the surrounding hills and mountains with family and friends.

Surviving are two sons, Keith (Alyce), Truckee, CA; Paul (Bonnie), Maple Valley, WA; three daughters, Meta (Stephen) Brown, Ogden; Mary (Daniel) Green, Pocatello, ID; Ann (Patrick) McKenna, Ogden; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Jane Saintsbury and Marion Adams.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, daughter Molly, and brothers Phillip, Vernon, Wallace, and Ray.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Family and friends may call at the mortuary on Friday, January 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.

The family expresses appreciation to the staff of Stoney Brooke Assisted Living and VistaCare Hospice.
