Floyd preceded her in death April 21, 1954. On June 3, 1955, Helen married Dee E. Mildon in Salt Lake City. Arm in arm, they were referred to as the “cutest couple”, and Helen spent 55 years with her caring and devoted husband Dee who was truly attentive to her needs and happiness. Helen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in the Primary and as a Sunday School teacher. She worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Russell Stirland and pediatrician W.H. Anderson, which gave her immense satisfaction. Helen served as a volunteer at McKay-Dee Hospital for 11 years and made many friends there. She loved cooking and made beautiful pies and yummy baked goods, which she generously shared with her friends and family. “You look hungry” was one of her favorite sayings, you could not leave her home without having something to eat. Her grandchildren will always remember, “Let the sunshine in” and Grandma wearing an apron. She was a beautiful seamstress and enjoyed flower arranging. Helen was always willing to help anyone in need. Mother had a profound gift for caring for others. Her mother and other relatives were blessed with her tender and loving care for many years. The family expresses special thanks to Evelyn and Jack Harper, caregivers George E. Wahlen Nursing Center, Crestwood Care Center and Harmony Hospice for their loving care these past months.
