Helen Driskell Murphy

CLEARFIELD – Our Sweet Mom, Helen Driskell Murphy, 87, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014.

She was born June 24, 1927 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming the daughter of Charles E. and Maude Blair Driskell.

Her family moved to Clearfield in 1943 where she graduated from Davis High School in 1946.

Helen married James L. Murphy on January 9, 1947.

She volunteered with the Clearfield 5 ^th Ward, teaching sewing, crocheting and embroidery. Helen supported our father in the Masonic Order and was always by his side.

She loved reading, golfing, crocheting, working in the yard and putting her hands in the dirt and family was her pride and joy.

Surviving are her sons, Mike (Karen) Murphy, Dennis (Lanice) Murphy, daughters, Patty (Rob) Jones, Jamie (Dirk) Jones, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild on the way and one sister, Betty (Frank) Galligher.

Preceded in death by her husband, parents and one grandchild, Eric Searle.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden.
