OGDEN a€" Helen Vendla Jeffs Nielson Pope, was welcomed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Friday, October 26, 2007 following a stroke.

She was born May 15, 1928 to James and Mary Elizabeth Williams Jeffs.

Helen married Don H. Nielson on August 1, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple. He died in 1952. She married Norman D. Pope on April 30, 1956 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Her life was an example to all of kindness, integrity, compassion, selfless service to others, and incredible, unconditional love. She often expressed her great love of and appreciation for her family, neighbors, and friends. In her honor, please express love often to your friends and family.

Helen was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a very strong testimony. She willingly and lovingly served in many church callings throughout her life.

She loved and appreciated the beauty and bounty of the earth and all of God''s animal creatures.

She is survived by her sweet husband, Norman; son Breck (Linda) Nielson; daughters, Jamee (Lon) Wheelwright, Jodie Pope-Stone (Michael); grandchildren, Nicole (Greg) Morrissey, Bryan Nielson, London Pope, Michael H. Stone, Scott Stone; great-grandchildren, Breck Aaron and Destiny Morrissey; nephew, Paul Jeffs, whom she loved like a son; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Ida Nelson, who loved and taught her well; brothers, Jack and Jimmy Jeffs; sister, Sarah Fae Jeffs; stepbrothers, Clarence and Dale Nelson; and stepsister, Thora Nelson Astle.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
