Helen Kay Potter

March 7, 1940 — October 20, 2024

Helen passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on October 20, 2024 at the age of 84.

Born on March 7, 1940, in Preston, Idaho. She grew up on a dairy farm where she developed a deep appreciation for hard work and strong family values. She was a cherished daughter of Howard Melvin Jr, and Ethleen (Johnson) Grant and she loved them deeply. She was one of many siblings, and although she loved them all, she shared a special bond with her twin brother Howard. Their connection was unique and remained strong throughout their lives.

Helen was an active, vibrant woman who loved nature and enjoyed the outdoors. She found great pleasure working her garden. She was especially proud of her Mr. Lincoln roses. Helen was an expert fisherwoman, an activity she enjoyed with her husband Charles, her children and her brother Mark. She had a passion for antiquing and furniture refinishing. With her skilled hands and keen eye, she transformed the old into something beautiful, leaving behind cherished pieces that reflect her many labors of love.

She will be remembered for kindness, strength, gentleness, and the love she shared with all who knew her. Helen’s radiant spirit and love of life touched the hearts of everyone she encountered.

She had a deep faith and love for her church. She lived her life with the unwavering belief that in her passing, she would be embraced by the comforting arms of her heavenly father.

Helen leaves behind her loving husband, Charles Potter, to whom she has been married for 43 years; six beloved children, Richard Jones, Douglas Jones, Kenny (Julie) Potter, Roxanne Sedar, Becky (Chris) Snyder and Ann Jones; eight cherished grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear brothers and sisters, a loving extended family, including nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Mark Grant; sister, Gloria Perry; granddaughter, Melody Jones; and grandson, Jacob Dukes.

Her loved ones will find peace knowing she will watch over them with the same warmth and love she shared throughout her life.
