Helen Kathleen Johnson Reeve Her Dancing Days are Over
Helen Kathleen Johnson Reeve, 94, of Ogden, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Stoney Brooke Assisted Living Residence of age related causes.
She was born on November 3, 1918, in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Milas Partridge and Eliza Viola Loveless Johnson.
The love of her life was John Orson Reeve whom she married on December 7, 1939, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away 29 years ago in 1984.
Helen was quick to laugh and smile. She brought a ray of sunshine in the room when entering. She was known for her friendship to everyone and will surely be missed by many people whose lives were touched by her life. Her family will miss her words of wisdom and spirit. She freely gave her testimony and knowledge of the Gospel.
A lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was involved in Relief Society, Young Women''s and Primary Presidencies and Teacher, Cub Scout Leader, Visiting Teacher, Temple Worker, and was a Senior Missionary with her husband in the Louisiana/Alabama Mission.
She was an Officer of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and member of the Ebell Club in Pomona, California.
Helen led a full and productive life as a wife and mother. She was gifted in her domestic skills, and her interests were varied. Her candy and pies were given with love, and her knowledge and love for gardens and flowers were passed down through her family. She crocheted afghans for many of her grandchildren that will be cherished. She enjoyed reading a good book or information that she thought useful to herself or her family. Music and dancing revived her soul and others. She will be remembered as the Dying Swan in a church play.
Surviving are her children, Mrs. Douglas L. (Kathleen) Marker, Fredericksburg, VA; John P. Reeve, Ogden; Mrs. Louis E. (Janet) Glass, Ogden; Kenlon W. Reeve, Ogden; Robert B. Reeve, Paradise, CA; and Roger F. Reeve, Salt Lake City; 26 grandchildren, and 82 great grandchildren.
