Helen F. Tarran
OGDEN – Helen F. Tarran, 90, died Tuesday, June, 1, 2010.
She was born September 9, 1919, Newburgh, New York, the daughter of Ivan H. and Mary McCarry Flood. Helen graduated from Beacon, New York High School in 1936 and from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 1939.
On February 12, 1947, she married H.D. “Dick” Tarran in Ogden, Utah. They were the parents of two children. Dick passed away in 1999.
Helen worked at the Ogden Iron Works and in 1984 retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden.
Helen was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Circle Five, and Chapter M. P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was also active in DeMolay Mother’s Club and Job’s Daughters.
Surviving is her son, David S. Tarran of North Ogden; two grandsons, David M. Johnson and Stephen P. Johnson, both of Evanston, WY; and two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Mary Anne Johnson, and her parents.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
