December 7, 1919 – March 23, 2015

Our beloved and elegant mother, grandmother, great-grandmother Helen T. Tezak passed away gracefully at the age of 95 on Monday, March 23, 2015.

Born on Sunday, December 7, 1919 in Latuda, Utah.  She later moved to Salt Lake City with her family, and graduated from East High School in 1938 and LDS Business College with straight A’s.

She was the daughter of the Anton Tezak and Kristina Logar, and the eighth of nine children.  She m arried Tony Tezak on December 31, 1949.

Worked at Hill AFB as a Survey Board Officer where she made many friends and received two Sustained Superior Performance awards.  Retired from HAFB May 1986.  During her spare time she enjoyed shopping, spending time with family and bowling.  Her strong Catholic faith sustained her through many trials and tribulations during her time on earth.  She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Layton.

Survived by her children, Tony Jr., Mark (Janis), Paul (Carol), Matthew, and Kathryn. Grandchildren Jennifer, Philip, Elizabeth, Clark, Cherie, Alexis, Gillette, Corbin and Jake; great grandchildren Anistyn, Kalee, Griffin, Viola and Mylee; lots of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law Dr. Richard Barton; four brothers Joe, John, Stan and Lewis Tezak, four sisters Mary Janus, Ann Franks, Christine Grant and Anita Brown; grandsons Zachary and Alexander.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 South Chapel Street, Layton.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  A Vigil with Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 Crestwood Road, Kaysville.
