Helen White Wilcox 1916-2007

Helen White Wilcox, age 90, was born in Bountiful, Utah on September 26, 1916 to George and Florence Jane Holbrook White. She passed away peacefully at home on July 21, 2007.

She is survived by her children, Jane (Gary) DeWaal, Mary Sue (Eric) Schwartz and Sarah (John) Thomson; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Barber Wilcox.

Helen attended Davis High School and the University of Utah where she earned her Bachelor''s Degree. She worked as a school teacher in Bountiful, and was the Bountiful Librarian for the children''s library for 16 years. She married Harold Barber Wilcox on March 8, 1941. They spent most of their married life in Bountiful. They moved to Othello, Washington in 1969 and Helen once again taught kindergarten and first grade. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and attended an aerobic dance class until her early seventies. She retired with her husband to Bountiful, Utah in 1982.

Helen was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the joy of her life, and she was always generous and loving with all her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Pipiena Falemaka who was the caregiver for both Harold and Helen during the last months of their lives. Her kindness and compassion will be remembered.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 11:00 am at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may call from 9:45-10:45 am prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
