Helen Fujiko Yoshinaga

Helen Fujiko Yoshinaga, 87, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008, following a brief illness. She was born December 24, 1920 in Seattle, Washington to Totaro and Suga Omori. She lived in Seattle until she was sent to the war relocation center in Granada, Colorado in 1942. Helen married M. Roy Yoshinaga on March 22, 1948, in Milwaukee, WI. After they were married, they moved to Perry and later to Ogden where they remained until Roy''s death in 2001. Since 2001, she has lived in Salt Lake City. With a kind and quiet personality, Mom devoted her life to raising her children, and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Her ability to press on through life''s challenges without complaint was an example to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband and her brothers, Fred Omori, Seattle, WA, and George Omori, Cincinnati, OH. Helen is survived by her children, Rae Louie (Steven), Rolen Yoshinaga (Dawn) and Loren Yoshinaga (Lorrie), six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family is deeply appreciative of the work of the emergency room and intensive care unit of Salt Lake Regional Hospital for their compassion and professionalism. We wish to thank Suzanne Addison for her years of assistance in caring for Mom. The family also thanks Stan and Stephanie Nakamura for their help and support during Helen''s last days. A special thank you to Aunt Nobuko Miya, for her lifelong devotion and caring for Helen that has spanned six decades. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 7th at 11:00 a.m. at the Ogden Buddhist Temple, 155 North Street, Ogden.

Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., at the church.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
