Helen Mae “Pam” Halvorson

Helen Mae “Pam” Halvorson, 92, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2018 surrounded by loving family members. She was born on May 26, 1926 in Stillwater, Minnesota to Milton August and Alma Helena Smith Ackerson.
She graduated from Stillwater High in 1944. She attended a business college and went to work for Western Union as a telegrapher being stationed from San Francisco to Washington D.C. After that, she worked for 3M in St. Paul. She met Alger M. Halvorson and they were married on October 21, 1950 in Stillwater. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Helen Mae and Al joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1959 and moved to Bremerton, Washington in 1962. She held many callings throughout her life, diligently serving and loving her neighbors throughout he life. After Al died in 1992 she served a fulltime mission in the Vancouver British Columbia Mission.
In 2005 she moved to Utah to be closer to family and enjoyed her neighbors and friends at Lakeside Village in South Salt Lake, living independently until at age 90. She then resided at Our House of Ogden where she loved the staff and residents; they were unerringly good and kind to each together.
Helen Mae is survived by her four children, Sonja M. (Michael) Price, Karen M. (Scott) Nielson, Naomi L. Quale, David M. (Rena) Halvorson; and two step-children, Baron Halvorson of Texas, and Barbara Braham of California. She also has 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren who love her very much.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Cedar Buff Chapel, 1814 East 7775 South, South Weber, Utah 84405. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
Interment will be on November 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Lewis Chapel Cemetery, 5303 Kitsap Way, Bremerton, Washington.
