HENDRICUS “HANK’ J. FASSOTTE
WASHINGTON TERRACE - Hendricus “Hank” J. Fassotte, 91, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Legacy House in Washington Terrace.
He was born December 1, 1917 in Delft, the Netherlands, a son of Johannes M. and Josepha Pypers Fassotte.
Hank married Johanna A. DeKoning on October 8, 1941 in Delft, the Netherlands.
During World War II he was taken by the Germans for forced labor in their airplane factories. In February of 1957 his family immigrated to the United States settling in the Ogden area.
Hank retired from the Union Pacific Railroad following 25 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife, Johanna, of Washington Terrace; one son and two daughters, Joyce (Thomas) Dixon, LaVernia, TX; Johannes (Nid) Fassotte, Fairbanks, AK; and Ria (Ron) Smith, Roy, UT; as well as 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, one granddaughter and two great-grandsons.
Special thanks are extended to Applegate Hospice for the loving care they provided to him. We also want to thank the staff at Legacy House for their continued care during his stay there.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 26 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
