Henry E. Riley SYRACUSE - Henry Ed Riley, 64, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Heritage Park Care Center in Roy, Utah. He died peacefully from abdominal bleeding and related conditions. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December, 2007. He had gone through radiation treatment and chemotherapy since then. He was born May 14, 1945 to Henry Niles and Mary Christeen Levy Riley, the second child of 13, with one child who died a few days after being born. He was born and raised in Sallis, Mississippi where he attended grade school, junior high and high school. He then left to attend Navaho Community College in Tsaille, New Mexico. He moved to Ogden, Utah in 1966 to work for Job Corps. He then began employment at Cream O’ Weber where he retired in 2000 after 30 years. Henry was a dedicated and hard worker throughout his life. Henry married Shauna Shiramizu on May 8, 1982 and they lived in Syracuse until his passing. His favorite pastimes were traveling in the motor home, camping at the Eagles Family Meadows Trailer Park, and attending family reunions on both sides of the family. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles (FOE). He was a member of Weber State Wildcat Club and enjoyed attending football and basketball games. He is survived by his wife Shauna Riley; his mother Mary Christeen Riley; brothers Willie Nelson, St. Louis, MO; Frank Walter, Milwaukee, WI; Jesse Lee (Willi), Milwaukee, WI; Albert Lee (Brenda), Rockford, IL; James Earl, Milwaukee, WI; Edward Earl (Pam), Milwaukee, WI; sisters Bertha Mae Riley Holt, St. Louis, MO; Gertrude Harmon, Milwaukee, WI; Helenteen Suggs, Fayetteville, NC; Dorothy Jean (Clinton Jr.) Campbell, Milwaukee, WI; Ruby Nell (Gerald) Stowers, Milwaukee, WI; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Henry was preceded in death by his father Henry Niles, brother James Vincent and a sister-in-law and brother-in-laws. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Vincent Hansen and Deanna Bojanower of the Utah Hematology/Oncology Clinic at McKay-Dee Hospital, the staff at Heritage Park Care Center, and Inspirational Hospice. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Reverend Jerry Hirano of the Ogden Buddhist Temple officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Cremation under the direction of Lindquist’s Crematory.
