Henry Lewis Rist

Henry Louis Rist, 88, passed away November 13, 2008 in Bountiful, UT. He was born November 19, 1919 in Salt Lake City, UT to General Lafayette and Stella Cathline Heusser Rist.

Henry married Ida Smith July 29, 1943, later divorced. He married Veda Mae Stone October 10, 1953. Henry spent most of his life in Utah and served as a police officer in Monroe, UT; a postal worker in Salt Lake City, UT; and a Justice of the Peace in Wellsville, UT. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His hobbies were ham radio, genealogy and ballroom dancing.

He is survived by daughter Ida Lou Sorensen (Sandy, UT); son Calvin Rist (Sandy, UT); step-son George D. West (Salt Lake City, UT); step-daughters Helen B. Hanner (McKinleyville, CA), Carol D. Bingham (Bountiful, UT); Ann Marie Chorn (Salt Lake City, UT), Barbara E. Hall (Charleston, SC); brother G. Leland Rist (Salt Lake City, UT). He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ada and Evelyn, brother Clifton, wives Ida and Veda.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 6-7 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., where friends and family may call. Interment at Wellsville City Cemetery Wednesday, November 19 at 1 pm.
