LAYTON a€" Henry Albert Stary passed away December 22, 2009 in Layton, Utah. He was born in Uniontown, PA August 24, 1919, son of Kristan Stary and Anna Evanich. He was raised in Binghamton, NY with his four sisters and two brothers. Henry joined the CCC and worked throughout the New York state area. Following his service in the CCC he joined the Army Air Corps. He met and later married Geraldine Watson in Brooklyn, NY in 1942. Henry served his country for 30 years in the Air Force, retiring in 1972. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Upon his retirement from the Air Force he went to work for the US Postal Service, retiring in 1984. He and Gerry traveled across the United States befriending many fellow travelers.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his daughter Anna Mae, brothers Rudolph and Frank, sisters Cecilia, Mary and Louise.

He is survived by his daughters Mary Lynn (Curt) Johnson, Kaysville, UT; Lisa Ann Stary, Roy, UT; sister Margaret (Robert) Smith, Gouverneur, NY; grandchildren Raymond (Linda) McDonough, Jr, Lindon, VA; Deanna (Stanley) Cross, Lindon, VA; Christian (Sandy) Johnson, Syracuse, UT; Heather (Chris) Swaner, Layton, UT; Rebecca (Michael) Gurule, Clearfield, UT; and eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks extended to Al and Jan Gniot family, Bob and Mia Feldman, the Woolsey and Vincent families for their many kindnesses, love and support over the years.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may gather from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services.
