Herbert William Lane

Herbert William Lane, loving father and husband, passed away on June 17, 2016. He was born on January 22, 1923 to Herbert Edwin Lane and Hester May Schultz in Ogden, Utah.

Herbert was a lifelong resident and Founding Father of Washington Terrace. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Army during World War II. Herbert married Helen Betty White on March 5, 1942 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Helen passed away in 1995. He later married Ruth Cantone on December 2, 1995. Family was his priority and favorite hobby; he was interested in everything his family was doing.

Herbert is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Carolyn) Lane, David W. (Connie) Lane, and Timothy W. (Jeni) Lane; sister, Betty Stromberg; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Herbert is preceded in death by his first and second wives; daughter, Katherine Louise King; three brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment Ogden City Cemetery.
