SYRACUSE – Hideo Miya, 94, passed away June 3, 2018 at his home.  He was born February 15, 1924 to Naka and Seki Ichikawa Miya, in Fairview, Utah.  He was a graduate of Davis High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1944 to 1946.

He married Betty Nobayashi on February 20, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He was the distinguished owner of World Wide Packaging in the Davis County Community.  He was an accomplished sportsman especially in bowling and golf.  He is a member of the Ogden Christian Church.

Hideo was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Toshiko Miya and Chieko Miya Shiba.  He is survived by his wife Betty of Syracuse, UT, his sons Kerry Alan (Vicki) Miya of Layton and Edwin (Jamie) Miya of Syracuse,  brothers, Minoru Miya, Shig (Mary) Miya, Yukio (Shigemi) Miya, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday June 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit with family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services.  Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd.
