Hisaye Nakamura Shiki

Hisaye was born, January 19, 1919, to Misaku and Fute Tanaka Nakamura. The family resided in Centerville, California where Hisaye graduated from Washington Union High School in 1937.  In 1941 Hisaye and her family were relocated to the Japanese Internment camp in Topez, Utah.

Hisaye was a member of the Buddhist Fujin-Kai and Church.

On May 6, 1945, she married Roy Shiki.  The couple raised two sons, Royce and Duane.  Roy and Hisaye have resided in Ogden for almost 70 years.

Hisaye is survived by her husband Roy and son Duane Shiki.

Hisaye was preceded in death by her son Royce, Ogden, UT, her parents, two brothers and three sisters of California.

Hisaye enjoyed monthly luncheons with fellow retired friends from Cutter Lab. Her hobbies included running, bowling, maintaining her home and beautiful gardens.  Hisaye was blessed with family and friends.  She was well loved.

Private services were held at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
