LAYTON a€" Hollis Marie Allgood, 90, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family.

Hollis was born January 6, 1919 in Moab, Utah the daughter of Nathan Abraham and Hazel Wilcox Day. She grew up in LaSal, Hiawatha, Huntington and Moab, Utah.

Hollis married Marvin Lester Allgood of Grand Junction, CO on July 20, 1938 in Castle Rock, Colorado. She was sealed to her husband of 67 years and nine children February 10, 2005 in the Bountiful Utah Temple fulfilling her life-long goal.

She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many responsible church positions.

She was a caring and selfless mother and grandmother to her large family her entire life. Hollis was an avid gardener and accomplished artist. She loved the out of doors and spent countless days camping and fishing with her family.

Survived by sister, Audrey McDougald, Moab; four sons, Marvin Dee (Judith), Gambrills, MD; H. Bruce (Karen) Nashua, NH; Thomas W. (Dixie), Layton; Robert D. (Doris), Riverdale; three daughters, Donna M. (Clark) Williamson, Layton; Betty Joan (Allen) Kingsbury Oliver, Bountiful; Barbara (Ray Jr.) Snow, St. George; 27 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, brothers Neldon and Lester Day, sister Helen Allen, sons Larry G. and Jerry N., sons-in-law Allen Kingsbury and Ray Snow Jr., grandchild David B. Allgood, great-grandchildren Tyson Horton, Rachael Pack and Kyle Allgood.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Holmes Creek Stake Center, 125 Chapel Street, Layton, UT. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Grand Valley Cemetery, 1300 Millcreek Dr., Moab, UT, Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 1 p.m.
