Homer "Huck" Davis

Homer “Huck” Nelson Davis, 89, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at his home. He was born September 30, 1924 in Preston, ID to David and Annie Marie Davis. He married Tenny Wickham in Preston on April 27, 1951.

Huck served in the US Army during World War II. At the end of the war his battalion was among the first to reach Hitler’s Eagles Nest. He retired from the phone company. He was a member of the LDS Church and served as Sunday School Secretary. He loved horses and cabin life. He and his best friend Joe May built cabins together in the Uintas and enjoyed many wonderful years of friendship.

He is survived by his wife, Tenny; son Bruce H. Davis, Park City; grandchildren: Darla (Paul) Batty, MacArthur (Allison) Davis, Cody (Heather) Davis, Tenny (Michael) Hanson, Zebedee (Lacey) Davis; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Dora Porter and Nola Hobbs, both from Salt Lake City.

Preceded in death by Paul Davis, David Davis, Blaine Davis, David E. Davis and Annie Davis.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit with family Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Road where military honors will be accorded.
