Horace Mark Argyle

Horace Mark Argyle slipped quietly from the bonds of earth in the early morning hours of February 1, 2016. Born to Mark and Susan Argyle on April 18, 1930, he lived in Davis County most of his life.

A child of the great depression, the virtues of thrift, self-reliance, and hard work were integral to his character. He graduated from Davis High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Utah.

He served a mission to Southern California for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served his country as a medical corpsman in the United States Army at the close of the Korean Conflict.

Horace married his sweetheart, Joyce Baumgart, on July 12, 1954. Together they raised six children in what was a very normal household, but which in memory was idyllic.

Horace worked most of his career as a general contractor, building many fine homes in Kaysville. He also worked in real estate and civil service. He served throughout his life in many callings in his church. He found his joy in the beauty of nature, the arts and in his family.

Horace is preceded in death by his wife Joyce. He is survived by his children Ann (James) Rawlings, Steven (Lisa) Argyle, David (Barbara) Argyle, Joan (Frederick) Green, Susan (Jon) Christopher, Scott (Melissa) Argyle, 29 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren,  sister Lola Mae (Glen) Taylor, and sister-in-law Janet (Don) Larson.

Mom and Dad are together again at last.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Kaysville 10th Ward Chapel, 1039 E. Crestwood.  Friends may visit family Friday Feb. 5th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary 400 N. Main and Sat. from 9:00-9:45 am at the Church prior to services.
