Howard Wallace "Wolly" Adams

July 3, 1945 — February 15, 2025

Howard Wallace Adams, affectionately known as "Wally," passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on July 3, 1945, Wally was a reserved and introspective individual.

Wally found profound joy and peace on his boat in the serene beauty of the Snake River and Flaming Gorge. An avid hunter and fisherman, he cherished the quiet moments in the outdoors that he shared with his beloved companion and wife of over 50 years, Janet Lynne (Heath) Adams. He truly, deeply, loved her in his own quiet way.

A proud Vietnam veteran, Wally served his country with honor and bravery, carrying a quiet strength and a deep sense of duty. His introverted demeanor courageously masking the challenges of PTSD, preferring solitude, and the company of his own thoughts over social gatherings.

In the later years of his career, Wally worked as a Locomotive Engineer and was honored multiple times by Hill Air Force Base. He even had the unique opportunity to meet President Bill Clinton during a special assignment.

Preceded in death by his wife Janet Lynne (Heath) Adams, Wally will be missed by his family and neighbors. He leaves behind two sons, Justin (Nancy) Adams and Tyson Adams; four grandchildren, Kristopher (Taylour) Adams, Meganne Adams, Tristen (Jessica) Adams, and Arianna Adams; a bonus grandson, Adden (Elise) Swenson; and two great-grandchildren, Veda, and Roark Swenson. His legacy of strength will forever be cherished by those who loved him.

A memorial luncheon of Wally’s life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Noon (12:00pm) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 2228 S 1660 W, Syracuse, UT. Please come celebrate his life with his family.

Services under the direction of Lindquist's Layton Mortuary.
