SOUTH OGDEN, UT–Howard Lee Bott at age 100 passed away to join the love of his life, his sweetheart Ruth on October 2, 2021. Howard was born January 21, 1921 to Adolph R. and Martha Lance Bott in Brigham City, Utah. He was the fifth of seven children. He graduated from Box Elder High School then attended the University of Utah on a football scholarship.

He married Ruth Tarbet in the Logan Temple on July 23, 1941. They had three children. He served in the Naval Air Force during World War II. Howard was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in numerous positions including Branch President of the Chateauroux, France group, Bishop on two different occasions, Councilor in the Roy Stake Presidency, Ordinance Worker in the Ogden Temple and he served in the Family History Center in Ogden. He retired from Hill Air Force Base as Deputy Swing Shift Superintendent of Maintenance after 35 years of service.

His greatest love was his family, his Church, gardening, fishing and photography. He always said: “I’ve been blessed to have enjoyed all elements of the best life God could ever offer a man.”

Howard is survived by his children, Pamra Lunt and Corey R. and Louise Bott; 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; son, Steven; one grandchild, one great-grandchild, his parents and all six of his siblings.

Family funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
