Howard Bown

Howard “Butch” Jene Bown died peacefully in his home in Layton, Utah on March 13, 2016.  He was 82 years young.

Howard is survived by wife Sharlotte, daughter Karen Jean Bown (Penni Oliver), Kim (Tony) Whitney, Melanie (Monte) Sleight, son Brian (Kymberlee) Heath, brother Robert (Ruth) Bown, sister-in-law, Delora Bown, nine grandsons, two granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren and the GREAT OUTDOORS!

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Clara Bown and brother Donnell Bown.

Howard was born on May 2, 1933 in Manti, Utah to Robert and Clara.  He graduated from Manti High in 1951.  He married Sharlotte on July 1, 1982.  He began working for Ken Garths in his early twenties.  Later he worked for Bountiful Campers and then for Blaine Jensen RV before retiring at 62.  He enjoyed raising cattle and Appaloosa horses, hunting, camping, fishing, and the outdoors.  He loved spending time at the Sourdough Wilderness Ranch with family, friends, and wildlife.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s  Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
