Howard C. Reese
June 9, 1934 ~ June 14, 2015
Beloved, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on June 14, 2015, suddenly and unexpectedly, surrounded by his family. Howard was born on June 9, 1934, in Amalga, Utah to Darwin Howe and Blanche Petersen Reese.
Reared in Cache Valley, Utah graduated from North Cache High School, married Verlyn Burns on April 2, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Worked for H.A.F.B. for 38 years as a journeyman machinist, ran the KLO Spot Light for about 20 years. Served community and church also after retiring volunteered at the Union Station and Air Force Museum until his death.
Howard loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, reunions and trips with family. Instructor for Hunter Safety, he thoroughly enjoyed his trips to Southern Utah with the Iron Pony’s. He delighted in going to his grandson’s sports games. He loved motor cycles and anything to do with aircraft and the history of Aviation. He loved traveling with his wife and friends Robert and Elaine (Aunt Sally) LeVitre.
Surviving is his wife Verlyn; children, Terry L. Reese, Ogden, Utah; Michael H. Reese (June) Harrisville, Utah; Vickie Malmberg (Joe) Roy, Utah; Jeffrey D. Reese, Laurie Forsgren, (Troy), Roy, Utah and nine grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey D. Reese; and brother, Wesley Reese (Barbara) and also Julie Bodily.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Harrisville 9 th Ward Chapel, 435 W. Harrisville Road, Harrisville. Friends may meet family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Interment at Brigham City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Hill Aerospace Museum.
