Howard Norman Makin, 75, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 in Ogden, Utah.  He was born on January 14, 1941 in Logan, Utah.  An only child, Howard was raised and educated in Logan, graduating from Logan High School in 1959.

He worked for a time at Aaron’s Jewelers before becoming an aircraft instrument repair technician at Hill Air Force Base.  Although Howard had cerebral palsy, he was very skilled with his hands and led a productive and joy-filled life.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Howard served as a Scoutmaster, a Priesthood Instructor, and most recently as a co-pilot to Melissa as a Gospel Essentials Teacher.  He also loved serving as a home teacher.

Howard enjoyed making model airplanes, cooking for his family, and being a devoted house husband and driver.  Howard will be remembered for his outgoing nature, his wonderful sense of humor, and being a very loving soulmate.

Howard is survived by his wife of 28 years, Melissa L. Makin, Ogden and adopted son, Kent N. Makin, Ogden.  He is also survived by his Children of Affection, Alan Rogers and Amy Burden, Clint and Cassie Snyder; and his Grandchildren of Affection, Sydney Rogers, Connor, Roselyn, Wyatt, and Paysley Snyder.
