Hubert Lee Bizzell “Buzz”
Hubert Lee Bizzell, “Buzz” as he liked to be called passed away peacefully on September 15, 2009.
Hubert was born August 23, 1915 in Little Rock, Arkansas the prettiest state in the union he said, to Francis and Lela Bizzell. He joined the CCC’s during the depression, to support his mother and siblings. He met Leora Jacobsen while serving in the CCC in Heber City. They were married October 3, 1938. He later joined the Navy during WWII and served there for two years. He then had various jobs working in the coal mine in Heber City and then Hill AFB civil service where he retired after 18 years. Leora and him then worked at Aurbachs department store for seven years driving down everyday together.
Herbert had many talents and hobbies. He loved working on automobiles. He could fix anything. He loved gardening and woodworking which was apparent to all his neighbors. Early in life he loved camping and fishing with his granddaughters, especially at Mirror Lake.
Surviving are his son Robert Bizzell (Bernie), GA; three granddaughters Melissa (Sheldon) Ortiz, Layton; Heather Mahany (Ralph), GA; Holly Herring (Dave), NC; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his best friend and companion Jean England who spent many nights cooking dinner and going for walks with Mac her dog that Grandpa loved so much.
Hubert was preceded in death by his wife Leora and daughter Lynda who he greatly missed everyday.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Friends and family may call Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
