Our perfect angel Hudson Ray Richmond was born silently to the loving arms of his parents Hunter Ray and Carrigan Young Richmond on August 6, 2024, at McKay Dee Hospital. His parents were so excited to meet him, long anticipating being able look into his blue eyes, but unfortunately their anticipation was met with heart break. After carrying him for 39 weeks, Hudson was stillborn following complications of birth.
He was born at 7:21 p.m. weighing 6 lbs. 1 ½ ounces and 17 ½ inches long. While his body was perfect, with his dad’s facial features and his mom’s hands and feet, he was not meant for mortality and is in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father and our other relatives who have passed on before.
It is hard not to question why this may have happened, but we know that Hudson was meant to be a part of our forever family. Following much prayerful consideration, we decided it was time to start our family, and he was super eager to join us, receiving the news of our pregnancy only four weeks after the decision had been made. Carrigan knew that Hudson would be a boy long before finding out, and that his name would be Hudson. His middle name Ray was family name after his father and great grandpa before him. Throughout the 39 weeks of pregnancy, Carrigan grew to know the meaning of a mother’s perfect love for our little Hudson Ray.
In the brief time he was with us, Hudson’s presence has made such an impact in the lives of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, bringing our family together, and strengthening our family bonds. He will live in our hearts forever, until the day we are able to be reunited with him, according to our Heavenly Father’s plan.
Hudson will be dearly missed by his parents, his grandparents, Eric & Erin Young, Heather & Dave Bruderer and Kelly Richmond, and the rest of our big loving family who were so eager for his arrival. We know he is with his Savior and Heavenly Father, receiving much love on the other side.
