Hugh Robert Hadley passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Saturday, June 24, 2023. He was born September 10, 1939, in Ogden, Utah to Percy and Arvilla Hadley. He was the baby of their five children.
Lovingly nicknamed ‘Baby Huey,’ he married the love of his life, Kathleen Kay Nelson in the Salt Lake Temple on July 25, 1963. They then had two daughters, Angela Hadley Wilkins in 1968 and Marcee Hadley Morgan in 1970. Hugh was the backbone of the family. He was always up for an adventure, whether that was camping or motorbike-riding. He loved spending time with family and was always one to get down on the ground to play with the grandkids or plant gardens. He was well known for having a joke ready to tell or a story for anyone that would listen. He was the first computer operator at Weber State University and was very proud of this fact. He also programmed America First Credit Union’s first transition to computer records and taught at OWATC.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Kathleen Hadley; his oldest daughter, Angela Hadley Wilkins; granddaughter, Brittney Hill- (James) Garrison; great-granddaughters, Grace Garrison and Novalee Garrison; his daughter, Marcee Hadley (Richard) Morgan; grandchildren, Sherise Morgan, Ellie (Shawn) Morgan, and Kobe Morgan; and great-grandson, Ryder Shonie; and siblings, Fay Hadley Beus, Hooper, and Norita Hadley Barnes, He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Arvilla; brother, Dee Hadley and sister, Barbara Hadley Willey; and by his son-in-law, Jeff Wilkins.
