A devoted, hardworking, and loving man completed his life''s journey on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at Heritage Place in Bountiful, Utah. His 96 years were filled with love, family, and service.
Hugo Bauerle was born September 28, 1912 to Ernest and Bertha Bauerle. His parents were early homesteaders and lived in a small one room log cabin in Hamer, Idaho. He was the 5th of six children.
On June 21, 1944, Hugo married his eternal sweetheart, LaRee Schvaneveldt, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They celebrated 64 anniversaries together.
Hugo was an active member of the LDS Church. He served an LDS mission in the Swiss-Austrian Mission from 1932 a" 1934. He held many callings in the church and was willing to serve where ever he was called. His favorite calling was that of a home teacher.
He worked at Hill Air Force Base from 1952 a" 1982 and retired at age 70.
Hugo and LaRee raised four children, Kenneth (Betty) Bauerle, Fruit Heights; Lee (Brenda Bates) Bauerle, Murray; Vickie (Mark) Barton, Clinton; and Dixie (John) Taft, West Bountiful. They enjoyed their 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. They lived 52 years in Roy before moving to Bountiful.
He enjoyed gardening, reading, fishing/ hunting and most importantly he wanted to offer service to others. He spent countless hours helping those in his community.
Hugo was a good friend, husband, and father. His passion for life will be greatly missed, but his legacy will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the Roy 2nd Ward Chapel, 5127 South 2400 West.
Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and at the church house on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
