Hugo Hans Mueller

Hugo Hans Mueller died peacefully at his home in Clearfield, Utah, December 11, 2011 from congestive heart failure.

He was born December 16, 1922 in Winner, S.D. After high school he served bravely in the Army Signal Corp during WWII where he earned the Silver Star and Purple Heart. After the war, he moved to Clearfield, Utah, married Mary Myrl Ivey, raised son Sam and daughter LynnDee, worked for Southern Pacific Railroad in Ogden for 40 years and operated Clearfield Home Furnishings.

He enjoyed snowmobiling and was a huge Jazz fan, but mostly he was a dedicated and loving husband, father, uncle, brother and friend. In his last days, he was surrounded by his wife of 64 years, loving daughter and her partner Marie Needham, his dear friends, Julio and Maria Aviles, their children and nephew Bob Ivey.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, Linda Ernst and others and the wonderful staff of Rocky Mountain Hospice who helped make his last months at home comfortable and happy.

He is survived by his sisters, June Kranz, Bee Rice (Ted), Patricia Bowman, Peggy Buneta (Mike), sister-in-law, Betty Mueller and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son and brothers, Fred and Wallis.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
