IDA VIRGINIA DEVEREAUX

1929-2014

Ida Virginia Devereaux, age 85, peacefully passed away on July 12, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Menan, Idaho, on February 11, 1929, to William Arthur and Lena Ethel Casper.  She married the love of her life, Fredrick (Bob) R. Devereaux on March 20, 1948 in Logan, Utah, later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple.

She is predeceased by her husband; infant daughter, Dawnette Devereaux; sisters, Ruby Thueson, Vie Nash, Emma Nygren, Nena Denwalt; and brothers, Dee and Willard Casper.  She was the seventh of eight children.

She is survived by her seven children: Cate, aka Cathy (Michael) Larsen, Fred Devereaux, Terry (Anna) Devereaux, Susan (Michael) Demas, Dr. Bradley Devereaux, Sharrae (John) Simmonds, and Steve (Anne) Devereaux; 29 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jay (Corrinne) Casper; sisters-in-law, Donna Casper and Annette Devereaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ida lived life to its fullest and was loved by all who knew her. Her greatest joys were her family and “The Farm”.  She loved the Lord and her church.  She served in numerous church callings including Ward Relief Society President and a mission to Jacksonville, Florida.  She looked forward to the Young Men coming to serve her the sacrament each Sunday.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lakeview Hospital for their extreme kindness and hospitality.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the West Bountiful 8 ^th Ward Chapel, 311 N. 800 W. West Bountiful. Friends may visit the family Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful and Wed.from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.  Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
