Born, Wimbledon, England to Charles Hugh Morgan and Agnes Leah Haslem Morgan. Immigrated to the United States in 1929. Raised in New York City. She had two brothers Michael and Hugh Morgan, both deceased. Served in the military during WWII and was 1SG of the WAAC detachment at La Junta Army Air Field, La Junta, CO where she met her husband, SGM Alvin G. Simonsen.

Alvin is deceased and Ida is survived by her six children: Linda Crump, Centerville; Alvin Simonsen Jr. and Linda, West Jordan; Peter C. Simonsen and Terry, San Francisco; Phillip J. Simonsen, Bountiful; Eric P. Simonsen and Linda; Fayetteville, NC; Miles Simonsen, Bountiful, UT.

She was a member of St. Olaf''s Catholic Church for many years. She retired from the Civil Service at Hill Air Force Base in 1974 after having served in high level positions at Erding AFB Germany; Nouasseur AFB, Morocco, North Africa; Wiesbaden, Germany, and Mountain Home AFB, Idaho.

Her life is an example of kindness, goodness and love.

Funeral Services will be held 10 am Wednesday April 2, 2008 at St. Olaf''s Catholic Church 1800 S Orchard Dr. Friends may call Tuesday April 1 from 6-7:30 pm with a prayer service at 7:30 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N 400 E. Interment Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
