Lutz Nalder
LAYTON a" Ila Lutz Nalder, 85, loving wife, mother and grandmother went to live with her Heavenly Father on Monday, August 16, 2010.
Ila was born October 19, 1924 to William Thomas and Annetta Johnson Lutz in St. Anthony, Idaho. She lived her childhood in various towns in Idaho. When she was two, her father passed away from an industrial accident. Later, her mother married Fred Walchli and he lovingly helped raise her.
Ila graduated from Emmett High in 1942. She worked as a switchboard operator, at the Port of Embarkment in Long Beach, CA; for Jack Dalton at HAFB and the Ogden Temple (her favorite), but mostly she was a wonderful housewife and mother.
On August 5, 1946 she married Byron Borup in the Logan Temple. On July 14, 1961 she married Berny Thomas Nalder. They were sealed in the Ogden Temple July 14, 2000.
Ila was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings in the Primary, Sunday School, Mutual and Relief Society. She was also a member of DUP and a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and loved her friends from this organization.
Ila loved to read, do her personal history, be with family and travel. She vacationed 32 years in Hawaii. It was her paradise on earth.
Ila is survived by her loving, devoted husband Berny T. Nalder, son, Byron Lee Borup II (Anna), son Robin K. Nalder (Kristeen) and daughter, Debra Boyce (Scott); 11 grandchildren, Byron, Trycia, Cory, Christi, Jami, Malissa Borup, Justin and Nicholas Nalder, and Chad, Brooke and Lance Boyce; 38 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one on the way.
She is also survived by her brother, Eldon T. Lutz and sister, Edna W. Stratford and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Caroline W. Bleakmore.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
