Ila Lois Oram
SLATERVILLE - On Wednesday, January 7, 2009, we lost a very dear loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend due to causes incident to age.
Ila was born March 15, 1924, at the family home, the youngest of her parents, Charles and Gertrude Alvina Everts Christensen in Ogden Utah.
She met and later married our Dad, Clifford J. Oram, on August 29, 1941, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
In her younger years, she was a waitress and later worked as the secretary for Clifco, the family business. Mom loved life, was always the life of the party wherever she went, and was full of piss and vinegar as she described herself and reminded us often. She had a beautiful voice, loved music, and performed with her mother when she was a young girl. She also sung in several choirs. Mom made beautiful baby clothes, crocheted pineapple doily’s, made mini shadow boxes, and spent many hours doing crossword puzzles.
The major loves of her life was Dad, her children, and grandchildren. Mom and Dad loved to travel and spent many years going on trips, wandering through the swap meets in Arizona, and seeing the sites of the states.
Ila was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many positions, but genealogy was her passion.
Ila is survived by her loving husband Clifford of Slaterville; children Janet (Richard) Ballingham, Farr West; Sue (Bruce) Bybee, Uintah; Cliff Oram, Pleasant View; Becky (Dave) Cardwell, Roy; Joe (Julie) Oram, Slaterville; and Karlene (Jess) Hansen, Roy; 28 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; a sister Leona Saunders, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two daughters-in-law, two brothers, and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family and friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday, January 11, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
Our family would like to thank our Dad for his devotion and loving patient care he gave our mother. We would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Applegate Homecare. We especially thank Carrie, Candace, and Launi for their help and special love for our Mom.
