Ila Gae Kindler Taylor, 76, died peacefully on May 19, 2024. Ila was born in Evanston Wyoming on August 4, 1948, to Alvin Kindler and Dorothy Fair Kindler. The Baby of eleven children. Ila graduated Evanston High school in 1967.
Ila married the love of her life, Melvin Taylor, on October 25, 1969. Together they had three children: Melvin Lamar (deceased), Brandon (48), and Katrina (46). The family was later sealed together for all time and eternity in the Ogden Temple.
Ila was a hard worker and often worked for her brother at the Whirl Inn hotel and Boomtown. She was employed by Weber County School district while her kids were in school. Once her kids graduated, Ila then went to McKay Dee Hospital before starting her career at the IRS where she retired in 2021.
Ila will always be remembered for her many stories, her kind and caring personality, her sense of humor and practical jokes (including occasionally switching places with her unofficial “twin” big sis, Twyla). Ila loved to be around her friends and family and loved to be the life of the party. In her early days Ila loved to dance and listen to music, a love she shared with her daughter. Ila was a great cook and caretaker, even taking care of her older sister and her mother when they were ill, before passing.
Ila was preceded in death by her beloved husband Melvin Taylor, her son Melvin Lamar, both her parents and many siblings: Janice (Lynne) Adkins, Patricia Kindler, Norbert (Gerri-living) Kindler, Ronda (Frank) Lamb, JaeDee (Jan-living) Kindler, Vietta (Wayne-living) Borino, RaeOma (Fred) Tingey (who died just 3 days before Ila), Jim Beutel (brother-in-law) and Sheila Kindler (sister-in law). She is survived by her son Brandon (Shelly); daughter Katrina (Wes); granddaughters Saydi (Rylee) Porter, Emma Taylor, and Lydia Taylor; great grandsons Elliott and Noah; Siblings Keith (Abieda) Kindler, Thomas (Ann) Kindler, Twyla (Russell Williams-friend) Beutel, Gay (Leon) Taylor and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mom, you are loved by all and will be missed but oh what a reunion you are having now! While our hearts still hurt it brings us peace to know that you are now finally free of all the pain and suffering you have endured. You are no longer held down by the physical limitation of this world, you are now free to dance and boogie the night away. You have waited a long time for this party! Please give everyone a great big hug for us and take care of Kody for me.
A special thanks to all her caretakers from Peterson Farms Assisted Living, Cascade Springs Hospice, and all the family and friends who helped care for her.
