Ilene Moore Dahl

Ilene Moore Dahl, 83, passed away peacefully Monday, April 21, 2014, surrounded by loving family members.

She was born Susan Ilene Moore on September 6, 1930 in Hooper, Utah to Joseph Oakley Moore and Susan Rae Fowers. Ilene grew up in Hooper, Utah, one of six children. She graduated from Hooper Elementary and Weber High School. She received a degree in secretarial science from Weber College.

On June 22, 1950, Ilene married Blair P. Dahl in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home in West Point. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband on the family farm. They raised six children. Ilene and Blair enjoyed 61 years of marriage on earth, and are now reunited for eternity. Blair passed away on November 22, 2011.

Her community involvement included PTA President, Davis County Young Homemakers President, and Davis County Farm Bureau Women’s President Ilene was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings including Relief Society President. She served as an usher on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was admired by many for her kind demeanor and loving attitude towards others. She lived a life of service. Peaceful words and encouragement were lovingly given to children and grandchildren when visiting Grandma’s house.

Ilene enjoyed cake decorating, sewing, quilting, cooking, and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling with Blair, her family and friends. She loved celebrating special occasions with her family. She especially enjoyed Moore family reunions.

Ilene is the mother of six children: Susan (Boyd) Kelley, West Point; Sharon (Kelly) Roe, West Point; Shirley (Steve) Guy, South Ogden; David (Anette) Dahl, Roy; Don (Susan) Dahl, Idaho Falls; and Jolene Dahl, West Point; 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children and her sister, Hazel Heslop, Hooper; brothers, Arthur Moore, Hooper; and Garth Moore, Roy. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and brothers, Oakley Moore and Gale Moore.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26th at 11 a.m. at the West Point 16th Ward Chapel, 4383 West 300 North, West Point, with Bishop’s Counselor Garth Kelley (grandson) officiating. A viewing will be held Friday, April 25th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the church.
