Ilene Safford Harrington

LAYTON a€" Ilene Safford Harrington, 75, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011 at her home.

She was born September 27, 1935 in Meadow, Utah the daughter of Leonard Ordell and Anna Amelia Hansen Safford.

Ilene married James Alexander Day. Later divorced and he preceded her in death. She married Neil Deloy Harrington on April 1, 1971 in Layton, Utah.

She was a member of the LDS Church.

Ilene started her career at age 14 working at the CafAC. Ilene in Fillmore, 29 years at Albertsons as a checker and 10 years at Beehive Clothing. Ilene loved crafts, sewing and spending time on the weekends watching Neil singing in his band and cuttin some rug. She loved to watch the JAZZ.

Surviving are her husband Neil Harrington, Layton; sons, Steven A. Day, Missouri; Cary L. (Sherri) Day, Layton; daughters, Dianna (David) Evans, Layton; brother, Leonard (Vickie) Safford, sister, Linda Ellis, step-children, Shellie (Roy) Struble, Valerie (John) Glover, Gary Harrington, Stacie (Gordon) Ferguson, Holly (Robert) Goss, 26 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, son Michael J. Day, stillborn daughter, granddaughter, Heather Anne Day, brother, Darus Safford, half-brother, Calvin Duncan and half-sister, Pearl Averett.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Layton Stake Center, 60 W. Gordon Ave. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Meadow Cemetery at 3 p.m.
