Inez Julina Lake Crowley
January 16, 1928 ~ November 28, 2018
Our sweet and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother returned home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. Mom had spent her last few months in nursing care due to a stroke causing severe dementia and leaving her very frail.
Mom was born January 16, 1928 in Clearfield, Utah to Benjamin Franklin and Frances Ballantyne Lake. She was the fourth of four children and most of her growing up years in Ogden.
On March 4, 1946, Mom married Leland Stephen Crowley, Sr. in Elko, Nevada. They were blessed with four children, one boy and three girls whom they adored. After many years as a “stay at home mom”, Inez returned to school and finished her education. She then began working to allow her children the opportunity to attend college.
Inez loved family and always made room in her heart and home, not only for her children but also her nieces, nephews and all of her children’s friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a great joy to Inez and she loved being an integral part of their lives.
Inez also loved The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions over the years in service. It became very important to Inez to have her husband also join the church, which he investigated and joined. All of Inez’s love and patience paid off and she and her husband were sealed for time and all eternity on June 30, 1986.
Inez leaves behind three daughters, Rhea (Ray) Fullmer, Patrecia (Jeff) Webster and Peggy Ohlson; grandchildren, Shane. Misty, Jennifer, Pam, Matthew PJ and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Leland Stephen, Jr. “Steve”, her parents, one brother, Boyd Ballantyne Lake, two sisters, Frances Montez, Sara Elinor, grandson, John Michael and great-granddaughter, Rainy Jo.
The family deeply thanks Barrington Place and their staff along with the outstanding nurses and staff from Brighton Hospice who truly brightened mom’s last couple of months.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Roy 7th Ward Chapel, 4900 South 2000 West. The family will meet with friends Wednesday, December 5th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
