Inez Newey Kruitbosch
CLEARFIEDL/ST. GEORGE a" Inez Newey Kruitbosch, 97, passed from this life on December 13, 2012 in St. George, UT.
She was born April 23, 1915 in Ogden, Utah the 14th child of Thomas Newey and Maude Wright Newey.
She attended Ogden City Schools. Mom was proud of her pioneer background and that her grandparents had the fortitude to leave the comfort of their homes in a far away land in pursuit of so great a cause and immigrate to the United States and the wild frontier.
She married Hyrum Kruitbosch, June 5, 1935 in the Salt Lake Temple. He died August 23, 1998. Together they had four children: Gary (Debbie), St. George; Karen (Jerry) Johnson, St. George; Jeanne, deceased (J.R.) Nalder, Layton; and Lamar (Shirley), Las Vegas.
In 1948 she moved with her husband to a small farm in Clearfield, where they raised their four children providing them with love, responsibility, and space to develop their own personalities.
She was active in her LDS ward serving in the Primary and Relief Society organizations. After their retirement they were bit by the golf bug. Rather than take shots and medicine to help prevent this innocuous disease they embraced it, traveling from sea to shining sea, stopping at each and every fairway they found. Eventually settling in St. George in the winters so as not to lose a single day of not succumbing to this malady. But mom loved the golf bug, and made many friends because of it. She had many trophies and even grabbed hold of the coveted "hole in one".
After her husband passed away she was anxious that she would not be able to continue going to St. George in the winters to be with her friends and enjoy her past time. Alas, her children stepped up to the tee and made award winning shots by promising to forever get her to St. George in the winters, thus altering their lifestyle forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 14 brothers and sisters, husband, Hyrum, daughter Jeanne Nalder and one great-grandson.
Surviving are her children: Gary (Debbie) Kruitbosch, Karen (Jerry) Johnson, all of St. George, UT; Lamar (Shirley) Kruitbosch, Las Vegas, NV; 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
