IONE MAE FERGUSON JARMILLO
1920-2014
Our beloved mother, grandmother, “Our Nana” Ione Mae Ferguson Jarmillo passed away peacefully March 5th, 2014 to enter into the gates where her husband and her son could greet her with a warm and happy embrace. She was a special Mother and Nana who will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. She was born on October 27th 1920 in Lyman, Wyoming, the second child of nine to Isaac Clyde and Daisy Ione Shelton Ferguson. She met and married Albert Jarmillo in 1940 and later moved to West Bountiful, Utah with her parents when Albert was drafted. They were blessed with two children Janice Ian and a son Robert Presley. She lived most of her life in the home she proudly built with cement blocks they poured themselves. She was creative, smart, diligent and tenacious. These traits made her one of the funniest ladies who ever lived. She was a faithful member of the LDS church for years, but slowly became unable to attend in her golden years, which she often said were not so golden.
She is survived by her daughter Janice (Jim) Meyer and her brother Duke and sister Mattie Gard. Granddaughters: Janae Meyer and Angela Mae (Darrel) Metzger. Great-Granddaughters: Casey (Joshua) Cowley, Shannon (Jerami) Ferris, and Ciera Metzger. Nine Great-Great grandchildren: Skylynn, Gage, Raven, Peyton, Gavin, Mataya, K’Dnce, Nick, Trevor. She was preceded in death by her son Robbie, her husband Albert, and six of her siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, Utah. Family and friends will gather to honor her from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at Bountiful City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
